Blake Stack

Blake Stack serves as the Senior Associate Director of Student Engagement and Director of the Bonner Scholars Program 

At the University, Stack currently supports the work of community-engaged learning by growing programs and initiatives intended for students who are curious about and dedicated to the work of social change in Richmond, and beyond. He is particularly passionate about creating spaces that foster critical reflection and civic agency, supporting the growth of equity-minded student leaders, and working to implement democratically-engaged assessment practices.

In 2021, Stack graduated from the University of Richmond with a Masters of Nonprofit Studies (MNS), receiving the Louis J. Narduzzi Memorial Book Award for academic excellence. His studies focused on understanding the strategies available to nonprofits and local institutions to create sustained change in the Richmond community, solidifying his ongoing desire to foster spaces that center community expertise in the work of civic engagement.

When he’s not learning about or being humbled by the complexity of this work, he’s likely skipping his next workout due to getting lost inside a local coffee shop, or walking around Carytown with his two kids, telling dad jokes and reminding them of how cool he is.

My favorite thing to do in RVA is to walk across Tyler Potterfield Memorial Bridge with my three favorite humans, attending any public meeting to hear Richmond’s latest hot takes, or sneaking into Nate’s Bagel’s for a Rose Mary Sea Salt with Cream Cheese and Chives with a Small Black Coffee before I catch the bus.
