Spider Bus Tour: A People's Guide to Richmond and Central Virginia

Friday, August 30, 3-6:30 p.m. 

The Bonner Center for Civic Engagement, Humanities Center, and Women, Gender, & Sexuality Studies program are hosting a bus tour in celebration of the publication of A People's Guide to Richmond and Central Virginia by Melissa Ooten, director of the will program, and Jason Sawyer featuring photography by Kim Lee Schmidt. The bus tour will feature three stops across Richmond from the book, including dinner at the local restaurant Mekong. The bus will depart from outside Tyler Haynes Commons at 3 p.m. and return to campus by about 6:30 p.m. Transportation is provided for the first 34 registrants.

Monday, September 16, 5-8 p.m.

It's election year for the Richmond School Board. Join us on an excursion for dinner and discussion with special guest Professor Wendell Roberts. Then we'll head to the Richmond School Board meeting to see it in action. Transportation is provided for the first 21 registrants.

Mayorathon

Wednesday, October 23, 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Join us on a trip to the Virginia Museum of History & Culture for Richmond's mayoral candidate forum, the Mayorathon. You'll have a chance to hear directly from the candidates ahead of the election this November. Transportation is provided for the first 21 registrants.
