Spiders Engage
Spiders Engage is the University of Richmond commitment to learn, create, and innovate with our Richmond region.
The Spiders Engage Logo
The Spiders Engage logo was designed by Katie McBride, director of design services for University Communications, and launched in fall 2022.
The Spiders Engage logo uses a linear skyline that combines simplified campus buildings and city buildings to create a unified visual connection between the campus and the city. The dashed lines incorporated into the graphic suggest an iterative process of building, maintaining, and strengthening the connections. The graphic elements added to ‘engage’ create a sense of motion and connection across the word. The form of the word also suggests a deconstructed version of a bridge with arches. The colors are the University of Richmond's red and blue.
