Alexandra Byrum

Alexandra Byrum is the director of communications and community relations for the Bonner Center for Civic Engagement (CCE). She supports key initiatives to advance the University of Richmond’s community engagement goals and serves as the CCE's liaison to arts and culture partners to amplify learning opportunities and deepen regional collaboration.
She joined the CCE in 2011 as educational programming coordinator at UR Downtown, then served as assistant director of communications and UR Downtown before assuming her current role in 2021. Previously, she was a museum educator at the Chrysler Museum of Art and taught the history of photography at Old Dominion University and Tidewater Community College’s Visual Arts Center. She was associate marketing manager at the Smithsonian Institution during the opening of the National Museum of the American Indian and the reopening of the Smithsonian American Art Museum and National Portrait Gallery.
She holds a B.A. with honors in English from the University of the South and an M.A. in art and museum studies from Georgetown University.Expand All-
