Volunteering with Peter Paul

Summer 2022
Volunteers are needed for a variety of events at Peter Paul this summer, including a helping with a cooking demonstration on Wednesday, May 11 from 6-7:30 p.m.; Community Pop-Ups on Thursdays, May 5 and June 16, 3-5 p.m.; and Food Distribution Preparation on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month, 12:30-1:30 p.m. or 1:30-3:30 p.m. If interested in volunteering at any of these events, please email the Volunteer Coordinator at jgilchrist@peterpaulrva.org.

Asian American Celebration

Saturday, May 21, 11 a.m.–7 p.m. 
Learn about and celebrate Asian American communities in Central Virginia through cultural performances, culture booths, hands-on activities, and great food. You can also sign up to volunteer with setting up here.

ART 180's The BIG Show

Friday, June 3, 4-9 p.m.
The BIG Show is a block party-style community celebration with the theme, Homecoming. There’ll be music, artist demos, all-ages activities, food trucks, performances, and youth art. Learn more.

Special Olympics 

Friday-Satursday, June 10-11
Special Olympics of Virginia will host its signature Summer Games at the University of Richmond, and anyone interested in volunteering can sign up here. Groups interested in volunteering together should contact Casey Henderson, Director of Fitness & Events, at chenderson@specialolympicsva.org.

Richmond Symphony Community Concert

Saturday, June 11, 8 p.m.

Every Saturday, 8 a.m.–12 p.m. 
Visit Richmond's biggest year around outdoor market for the largest selection of local vendors in the area.

Watermelon Festival 

Sunday, August 14, 10 a.m.–6 p.m. 
Experience great live music on multiple stages throughout the festival, delicious food from local vendors, shopping and tons of watermelon! It's a Richmond tradition that is celebrating its 39th year!
