Community Work-Study

The Bonner Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) offers students with Federal Work-Study (FWS) a variety of experiences in the Richmond community. Students may earn their FWS awards by engaging with a non-profit or governmental organization, supporting the agency’s mission, and participating in its daily operations.

To sign up, students should first explore volunteer opportunities in SpidersEngage. Once students have selected a partner organization, they can register and indicate that they wish to earn their FWS award through service at this organization.

This is a full semester (preferably a full year) commitment. A regular work schedule of at least four hours per week is required for participation in the program. Once registered, students will receive additional information and training.
