Community Partners Gathering

Wednesday, February 12, 12-5 p.m. 

Community organizations connected to units across the University of Richmond are invited to join us on campus for a workshop and conversations on recruiting and mentoring student volunteers and interns.

Attendees are welcome to participate in all or part of the program. The sessions will be held in the Alice Haynes Room, Tyler Haynes Commons.

Please register by Wednesday, February 5.

12-1:30 p.m. Optional, Free Lunch at Heilman Dining Center

If you have time before or after lunch, you may want to visit University Museums exhibitions at the Harnett Museum of Art or Lora Robins Gallery, take a walk around Westhampton Lake, or enjoy a quiet space to work in Boatwright Library or Tyler Haynes Commons.

1:30 p.m. Welcoming Remarks from Kim Dean-Anderson, Associate Director, Community Relationships and UR Downtown, Bonner Center for Civic Engagement

1:45-2:45 p.m. Internship Workshop with Career Advisor Sara-Kate Parker

Are you seeking an intern for the summer but are unsure how to get started in the process? During this workshop, you will learn tips for writing position descriptions, recruiting the best interns, and managing those interns. You will also learn more about the University of Richmond Summer Fellowships program and how this initiative can help support you in finding a great intern for your organization.

4-5 p.m. Networking Reception with Faculty, Staff & Students
