Overview: With 40 acres of gardens and a classically styled Conservatory, Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is located on what used to be Powhatan Indian hunting ground and was once owned by Patrick Henry. Among the goals of LGBG is education, a cornerstone of the mission. It is the principal design of the education department to provide for children and adults, experiences infused with a sense of discovery and joy for the beauty and diversity of the plant world.

Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers may choose from a variety of opportunities in admissions, education, horticulture, office/clerical, special events, or weekend opportunities. More than 600 volunteers help keep the Garden running in a variety of ways. Volunteers may choose choose how much they do, where they work and their level of responsibility.
