Overview: IHC is a nonprofit humanitarian organization linking worldwide pediatric surgical, diagnostic, and preventative resources to heal critically ill children in developing countries. When IHC brings children to Richmond for surgery, an active team of IHC volunteers helps care for them and their parents.
Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers act as liaisons between IHC staff and families. Volunteers help meet the families' practical and supportive needs such as:  picking up families from the airport, accompanying them to medical appointments, interpreting when necessary, checking children in for surgery, visiting families in the hospital and planning activities for families at their housing or in the Richmond community. Because IHC brings both English- and Spanish-speaking families to Richmond, the organization is in need of volunteers who speak English and volunteers who speak both Spanish and English
