Stop Hunger Now
On Feb. 19, 2011, the University of Richmond hosted its first Stop Hunger Now meal packaging event. A dedicated leadership team of students, faculty, and staff came together in September 2010 to begin planning for a campus-wide service event. Their hard work culminated in $5,000 raised and 20,000 meals packaged in less than three hours by 101 volunteers representing more than 10 campus organizations. The meals from this event were shipped to school in Orissa, India. The hot meals will encourage families to send their children, especially girls, to school.
